Aegis Portfolio -  Broker Opinion of Value (BOV)

Template Evolution | Branded Efficiency | Scalable Visual Systems

The Aegis Portfolio BOV is a perfect example of the rinse-and-repeat template system I’ve helped develop and refine for the Los Angeles Walker & Dunlop team. Designed with efficiency, clarity, and consistency in mind, this book was part of an ongoing effort to create a scalable BOV framework that we can adapt across multiple day-to-day deals—saving time while maintaining high design standards.

While the BOV template itself follows Walker & Dunlop’s brand guidelines, I’ve made incremental improvements over time—from layout hierarchy to typography usage—to ensure it continues to evolve and better reflect the Managing Director’s vision and the needs of his target audience. For this portfolio specifically, that meant catering to smaller investors who prioritize direct, easy-to-digest content over overly stylized design.

The design challenge here was twofold:

  1. Present multiple assets in a smaller book without overwhelming the viewer.

  2. Make each asset stand out while maintaining a streamlined visual system.

To solve this, I focused on:

  1. Clean, modular layouts that repeat across assets but still feel visually balanced and engaging.

  2. Typography with clear hierarchy to guide the reader quickly through essential data.

  3. Consistent use of branding colors and shapes to keep the book professional and on-brand, but not stale.

  4. Subtle design refreshes—like spacing, font weights, and graphic cues—that made the overall feel more polished and modern.

This wasn’t a flashy project—it was about clarity, functionality, and smart design decisions that enable our team to move faster on future BOVs without sacrificing the user experience. The simplicity of the book is deceptive—each element was carefully considered to give both the client and investors what they need, fast.

Outcome:
The Aegis Portfolio BOV showcases how design systems can scale across deals, while still allowing for continuous refinement and creativity. It’s a working example of how I’ve helped build a design foundation that can flex with our needs—ensuring each asset gets the attention it deserves without reinventing the wheel every time.
